Custom Business Card Design for M&D Williams Contracting
M&D Williams Contracting LLC is a licensed and insured residential contractor serving the New River Valley and surrounding areas. The company handles a wide range of home projects, from decks and outdoor structures to siding, windows and doors, kitchens, bathrooms, basements and full renovations.
For a contractor, a business card often gets handed over at a kitchen table or on a job site, so it has to feel trustworthy, look like quality work and make it easy to call back.
The Objective
The goal was to respect the company’s existing identity and its distinctive architectural artwork rather than replace it with something generic. The detailed Victorian home illustration already said “craftsmanship,” so the layout had to give it room while still fitting a long list of services and clear contact details onto a standard card.
The final layout uses the same artwork on both sides of the card, so every card shows the full design.
Design Choices
Architectural illustration
A pen-and-ink Victorian home with a turret and wraparound porch anchors the right side of the card, signalling residential work and attention to detail at a glance.
Handwritten-style lettering
The script “M&D Williams” name, paired with spaced serif “Contracting LLC.” lettering, gives the brand a personal, established feel.
Charcoal, cream and warm gold
A restrained palette keeps the card classic and readable, with gold used only for icons, rules and highlights.
Scannable service list
Two columns with simple gold icons list decks and outdoor structures, siding, windows and doors, kitchens, bathrooms, basements and renovations.
Contact details that stand out
A charcoal brush-stroke band holds the phone number, 540-599-7019, and the email address [email protected] in large, high-contrast type.
The Completed Work
- Zaxx Card Lab produced a complete, print-ready business card layout that brings together the company name, “Licensed and Insured” credential, service list, illustration and contact information in one balanced design.
- The artwork is set up as a two-sided card that uses the same design on the front and back.
