Botanical Business Card Design for Jungle Gem Plant Co.
Jungle Gem Plant Co. is a woman-owned specialty plant shop in Historic Cambria, at 1035 Cambria St., Suite A in Christiansburg, Virginia. The shop offers rare plants, handcrafted goods and local consignments — in its own words, “a little something for everyone.”
A specialty plant shop sells an experience as much as a product, so the business card needed to feel as lush and carefully curated as the plants on the shelves.
The Objective
The goal was a card that captures the shop’s personality at a glance and turns a quick hand-off into an ongoing connection. The front introduces the brand and what makes the shop different; the back gives customers an instant way to follow the shop on Instagram, plus the address and phone number for a return visit.
Design Choices
Plants as the artwork
Detailed illustrations of monstera, variegated pothos and trailing vines frame both sides, while a large heart-shaped anthurium leaf sits behind the shop name on the front.
Black, deep green and gold
A black background makes the greenery pop, and gold lettering, double-line frames and sparkle accents give the card a boutique, art-deco feel.
A gem in the name
A small diamond icon beside “Jungle Gem Plant Co.” plays on the shop’s name without cluttering the logo.
Clear positioning
“Woman-Owned Specialty Plant Shop” and “Rare Plants • Handcrafted Goods • Local Consignments” tell new customers exactly what to expect.
Instagram QR code
The back features a large, framed Instagram QR code and the @junglegemplantco handle, so customers can follow new plant arrivals with one scan.
Easy to find again
The Historic Cambria address and the 540-922-7673 phone number sit in clean serif type with simple location and phone icons.
The Completed Work
- Zaxx Card Lab designed a complete two-sided business card: a brand-focused front with the shop name, positioning and tagline, and a back built around social media, location and contact details.
- Matching botanical borders and gold framing on both sides make the front and back feel like one cohesive piece.
